Every session was inspiring!!! The most useful thing is to finally understand the effects of what I eat and what it does to my body, rather than simply being given a list of what I can eat by a hospital dietician. I always had this feeling of “what can I eat”. This is so much clearer. Thank you!

I tried lots of ways of dealing with my diabetes but it wasn't successful. Elaine showed me the importance of diet in the treatment of diabetes. It's really made a massive difference to my health. Since I've been following Elaine's advice I've lost a lot of weight, feel better in myself and am living a much more healthy lifestyle.

I couldn't believe how quickly my body changed and also how much I was eating every day! I was never hungry and this has changed the way I think about food. It's so easy to do - I won't ever go back to the old ways – everyone should know this because it affects long term health.
Elaine’s unique approach to properly educating participants about food was a really enlightening journey, revealing some really big surprises and explained why despite great effort over many years and many different diets, I never lost the weight I wanted to. It makes perfect sense and introduces new thinking about how we should care for our bodies.
Although I am delighted with the weight loss, what is good is that I have lost it from all the places I wanted to. Amazing, but that is not the real benefit! What the eating plan has done for me is much more. Within 2 weeks I had lost the urge to have a nap every time I sat down, and instead I have gained more energy and zest than I have had in a long time.
Dear Elaine - Thank you for all the advice and help you have given me while attending your RebalanceDiabetes programme. Having been involved with clinical advice for the past 3 years I was not moving forward in lowering my blood glucose range to an acceptable level. Although I had been given targets of 4 to 8 I was often as high as 20. I was also putting weight on. Since following your advice on suitable foods and drink I am now within my target range and have lost 2 stones in weight!
I am feeling on top of the world. Very energetic and extremely comfortable...What do I do with my now-too-big clothes? I love it! Many thanks for your help and advice.
I have gone from a ball shape to having an hour-glass figure. As of yesterday I have lost 2 stones and am absolutely delighted!
The advice is so different from anything else out there and yet makes perfect sense. I'm over the moon with how I now feel after embracing a new way of eating and seeing the results really quickly.
I learned so much that I didn't know – it's the opposite of what you think you should be doing. I want to be a good weight but I also care about my health.
I have now taken a whole lifestyle change and the course has set me on the road for a healthy diet for the rest of my life. Gone are the cravings for sweet foods, my energy levels are improving day on day and I feel and look so much better
Research shows that being moderately active benefits your health. We endeavour to encourage everyone to move your bodies more. You don't have to be a sporting hero to reap your rewards but we are always grateful to those sporting heroes who support The Rebalance Foundation.

The Twice in 24 Hours Challenge saw two crazy heroes walk the legendary 3 Peaks of Yorkshire twice, back to back. Starting at 7.30pm on the Friday, Dav and Gav set off in the direction of Pen-y-ghent. They were next seen at midnight ready to climb Whernside. By breakfast on the Saturday they had completed all 3 peaks once, and were ready at the foot of Ingleborough to start all over again. Thanks to all the people that supported them and walked some of the way with them on the second time around, encouraging them and making sure they completed the challenge. Our intrepid David is planning to walk the 268 mile Pennine Way in 10 days carrying full gear, and camping wild, in aid of The Rebalance Foundation.
As soon as the Just Giving pages are up and running, we'll keep you posted and we'd love your support.
Every year November is International Diabetes Awareness Month and we've earmarked this as the time to hold our annual balls. The International Diabetes Awareness symbol is a blue circle... hence the name of our "Blue Ball". Our Inaugural Blue Ball was held on Friday 25th November 2016 at Fairfield Manor Mercure Hotel, York. It was a fun evening with a school prom theme, including an expert balloon modeller, a top master of ceremonies, and live entertainment by The Mojos. The guests enjoyed a sumptuous banquet of healthy foods - the guests were amazed that healthy food could be so luxurious and flavoursome! The whole evening showed off exactly what The Rebalance Foundation stands for.
"That was the best charity ball we've ever been to - I'll be booking a whole table next year!" - Jon Charters-Reid
