Our Governance

The Rebalance Foundation is governed by our Board of Trustees. Coming together from various parts of our country gives us the ability to grow into a national charity, with the capacity to represent you wherever you are.

Here’s a little bit about who they are, and why we believe they are a credit to our charity:

Gillian is currently Chairman of our Board of Trustees.

A former Civil Servant, she is a highly qualified and experienced therapist working in her own private practice in the Midlands. Well respected in her own profession, as a Colon Hydrotherapist, she has served as Chair of her professional body, and is a committed and talented member of various committees dedicated to raising standards for the benefit of her profession. We are delighted that she is at the helm, promoting The Rebalance Foundation, and keeping us on track to help us meet our charitable objectives.

Elaine is the founder of The Rebalance Foundation. Click here to find how and why she decided to change her private business into a not-for-profit charity.

Her private clinical practice is based in York, where she uses her skills as an Acupuncturist, Colon Hydrotherapist and Nutritional Therapist to help her clients deal with a wide range of conditions. She holds 2 Master of Science degrees. As a researcher, published author, qualified and experienced adult educator, previously developing university courses in the UK, she brings her considerable academic, communication and therapeutic skills together to create the courses, programmes and materials for us.

Ian is a talented therapist, business man and all round great guy: a former magistrate, committed Rotarian, and member of several high profile professional committees and working parties.

We are grateful that Ian is able to devote some of his busy life to The Rebalance Foundation, bringing his valuable experience to help further our charitable objectives. Based in Lancashire, together with his wife Lynne, he runs a well-established and respected private clinical practice, is head of his professional body, and is currently developing a new health-related business.

Ian McDougall

Based in Northamptonshire, Richard, together with his wife Marlin, owns and runs a luxurious private day spa. He is an experienced therapist and business man, respected within his profession. As the UK representative of his international professional body, Richard has a truly global perspective on health and wellbeing.

Being a long-standing trustee with other charitable interests, Richard brings appropriate and relevant experience of running and working with charities to the benefit of The Rebalance Foundation and our stakeholders.

Have fun while you support us...

Healthy Active

Research shows that being moderately active benefits your health. We endeavour to encourage everyone to move your bodies more. You don't have to be a sporting hero to reap your rewards but we are always grateful to those sporting heroes who support The Rebalance Foundation.

The Rebalance Foundation entered two teams into the Yorkshire Marathon Corporate Relay on Sunday 9th October 2016 in and around York. Click here for the photo gallery.

The Twice in 24 Hours Challenge saw two crazy heroes walk the legendary 3 Peaks of Yorkshire twice, back to back. Starting at 7.30pm on the Friday, Dav and Gav set off in the direction of Pen-y-ghent. They were next seen at midnight ready to climb Whernside. By breakfast on the Saturday they had completed all 3 peaks once, and were ready at the foot of Ingleborough to start all over again. Thanks to all the people that supported them and walked some of the way with them on the second time around, encouraging them and making sure they completed the challenge. The next great event in 2018:

Our intrepid David is planning to walk the 268 mile Pennine Way in 10 days carrying full gear, and camping wild, in aid of The Rebalance Foundation.

As soon as the Just Giving pages are up and running, we'll keep you posted and we'd love your support.

The Blue Ball

Every year November is International Diabetes Awareness Month and we've earmarked this as the time to hold our annual balls. The International Diabetes Awareness symbol is a blue circle... hence the name of our "Blue Ball". Our Inaugural Blue Ball was held on Friday 25th November 2016 at Fairfield Manor Mercure Hotel, York. It was a fun evening with a school prom theme, including an expert balloon modeller, a top master of ceremonies, and live entertainment by The Mojos. The guests enjoyed a sumptuous banquet of healthy foods - the guests were amazed that healthy food could be so luxurious and flavoursome! The whole evening showed off exactly what The Rebalance Foundation stands for.

"That was the best charity ball we've ever been to - I'll be booking a whole table next year!" - Jon Charters-Reid

"What a fabulous evening, I thoroughly enjoyed it" - Heather Johnson

Everyone is welcome and we really hope you'll be able to join us for an evening of a healthy gala dinner, live entertainment, fun, laughs and good times. Tickets will be on sale soon - a bargain at £49 per head, or £450 for a table of 10. Please contact us to make your advance booking.
